daru Cocktail World Cup , Part 1

For all those people who love to play football or just a fan who likes to watch it from their comfort, FIFA world cup is more than just a tournament for all of them. it is a religion for all the fan like the way Indian fans feel about cricket. Football has always been present in the country, we all love to kick the football whether we play just as a hobby or a typical game. FIFA 2018 has already had it’s fever grip in India already, and the match begins from 14 June, the whole country or I should say the world has draped itself in its own color. The month-long football championship will continue till July 15.

Football mania has spread all across the nation has gripped in its own way as I had mentioned above. There are small miniatures available of the world cup in the market as well, whereas in the land of Kolkata especially, which is also known as the football hub has proved itself again as the true fan by painting itself in the colors of their of their favorite teams and player ( like literally).  There we can see the cheer, especially for Argentina and Brazil, while Goa has become the cheering squad for Portugal.

This time it’s Russia who will be hosting the world cup, after four years of long preparation they re all set to host the biggest stage of football, the official Ceremony will be starting at 6: 30 P.M ( local timing). Hosts Russia take on Saudi Arabia in the tournament opener in Moscow today. The game kicks off 9:30 PM, Indian time. The Fifa World Cup makes a comeback to Europe after 8 years, since the 2006 edition of the tournament in Germany. For the next one month, every football fan on the planet will have a team to root for, regardless of whether or not his country is a part of the tournament in Russia.

There are many anticipations that have been already been made, but as the countdown already started some of the things that you can look out for in this tournaments. Very unsurprisingly, Brazil, Neymar, and reigning champions Germany still are the favorites of each football fan.  Outside of the top two though, there are a couple of teams who are poised to do well, including France, who is strengthened by an EA Sports prediction but only if the attack-heavy team finds some balance in the tournament. Similarly, the Lionel Messi-led Argentina could rally to give the player the last trophy he needs to cap a remarkable career. Spain had been tipped as one of the early favorites, but the decision to sack coach Julen Lopetegui the day before the tournament starts may end any hopes.

Aside from the big five, other teams that could be in with a shot include Belgium, who’s so-called golden generation is yet to deliver on its promise. Similarly, Portugal and Uruguay both boast world class players in Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez respectively. Elsewhere, teams such as England and Croatia have been mentioned as outside bets, but that looks more likely to be out of hope than expectation. While Nigeria and Iceland who are very young and new teams in the cup ground, the two teams, and their traveling fans are set to be fun to watch and win over new supporters.

While for many players this cup will be or might be their last cup. Spain and Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has already admitted that this will be his final World Cup, while it is difficult to see Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo both carrying on for a further four years. All three will be seeking the perfect end to their illustrious careers and — in the case of Messi and Ronaldo — a first World Cup title. This year’s tournament also comes at an important junction for Neymar, with the Brazilian forward breaking a bone in his back in his home country four years ago and desperate to prove himself as a legitimate superstar. Egypt’s Mo Salah — who comes off a record-breaking season for Liverpool — is also worth a mention, although Egypt may struggle to advance.

Where one the other side of the matches their are young talents that are about to prove themselves, some even will be known as the prodigy. Brazil and Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus, German striker Timo Werner and Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić, who has been linked with a $175 million USD transfer to Real Madrid. Other young players tipped for a strong tournament include France’s Thomas Lemar and Saul could become an important part of the Spain team.

Well that all about the world cup tactics and it’s month long obsession that we will have but when it comes to darudelivery, we want to create this excitement to an another level in our own color and way. Why not we add something exciting to drink in our list when we are watching and celebrating our favorite team playing in the field. It’s time for FIFA and this time it’s Russia. Russia is immediately qualified for the knockout matches as they are hosting in their home ground. They’ve spent a quiet working week at their base in Novosibirsk, far away from the hub of World Cup activity in Moscow, and seem recharged and ready to deliver.

When we think about Russia drinks the first thing that comes to our mind is Vodka, the tasteless liquor which is loved by many of it. But there is something that is approve by the people for vodka in a much more exciting way; Moscow Mule, the cocktail that truly belong to Russia. The Moscow Mule is a classic vodka-based cocktail for a reason. Speaking the name of the cocktail conjures up images of the sweating copper mug that’s the de rigeur vessel for the Moscow Mule. While said mug is preferred for serving, it’s not necessary and shouldn’t deter you from making a Moscow Mule.

Peru: Pisco Sour

After a gap of 35 years, Peru is finally back and ready to shine in the FIFA grounds. In the hugely competitive South American qualifying, Peru showed nerves of steel to grab a play-offs spot on the final day with a win over Paraguay. At the back of some sensational performances from 33-year-old Jefferson Farfan, Peru won the play-offs against New Zealand and booked their birth to Russia.

Food and drink in Peru is some of the most varied in the world. Thanks to a range of climates, a colonial history, and its bordering countries, you’ll find old favourites served with a South American twist, animals (and parts of animals) you didn’t know you can eat, and incredibly fresh fruit and veg, all washed down with cheap (and strong) local liquors.

And if you’re up for a few drinks, Peru has you covered. Both wine and beer are made locally, and are not only strong but surprisingly good quality. There’s also a range of traditional liquors that pack a real punch. The most common alcoholic beverage is Pisco sour, a kind of brandy that’s between 70-80 proof mixed with lemon juice, syrup, egg whites, and ice. It’s sweet enough that you might not realize just how strong it is.

  • Using a straw, swirl the bitters into a simple design.

Don’t stress if you don’t have Angostura bitters on hand, you can do without. Instead, you can try a sprinkle of cinnamon on top of the foam, but that is not necessary either.

Denmark: White Cosmopolitan

Denmark is back at the World Cup after last playing in 2010, but this time it’s looking to get out of the group stage. Led by coach Age Hareide, the Danes boast some fantastic playmakers in the final third but needs to find a consistent No. 9. Midfielder Christian Eriksen, the Tottenham star is a brilliant midfielder who can score his share of goals but also set up his teammates. He’s a world-class talent that can carry the Danes to the group stage.

Until a few years ago, Danish food and drinks was essentially associated with potatoes and bacon, and Danish cuisine was completely unknown outside the country. Not anymore. Especially with the FIFA just right at the corner, it’s time to celebrate and enjoy the game in their style. And what more appropriate than the classic cocktail white cosmopolitan

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 Parts Absolut Citron
  • 2/3 Part Lime Juice
  • ½ Part Triple Sec
  • 1/3 Part White Cranberry Juice
  • 1 Twist Orange

How to mix it?

Group D

No one can define Argentina football team to the world than any better than the greatest player of all time Lionel Messi can. Messi have proved over the time that when it comes to scoring and tackling there is no one better than him. He have always shown a rising chart in the gameplay skills. Indeed, he was a prodigy since his young age in the ground. However, Messi is not only the reason to look out for Argentinian team; they have been favorites for many years now for all age football fans. Thirty years back fans had seen the glorious wins of the team in the years of 1978 and 1986, when the captain of that time Diego Maradona had goaled to be the winner of the World Cup.

Just like football, Argentina is also passionate about their drinks. Argentina drinks vary from region to region and represent the culture and lifestyle in Argentina. Some Argentina drinks are perfect for spending a relaxing evening with family and others are for a night out on the town with friends. Whatever you decide to sip on, you will not regret it. One of their most preferred drink will be the infamous ‘Fernet Con Coke’.

They are really in good place in the moment of the cup especially after their win again England in the Euro cup 2016. They are the most small nation team that ever enter the tournament. However, they are not taking the sympathy of anyone here. They are here to prove their stance & power; they want to make their own. All I can say is that get ready to cheer them with the ‘thunder clap’.

Iceland has not only came up in number in football game but also in food and drinks. Internationally Iceland vodka are on rise other than the Russian one. In addition, what else can be better than drinking this game season, where we can taste both countries pride?

In all likelihood, this will be Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric’s last trip to the World Cup, and the 32-year-old will lead a stacked midfield of Mateo Kovacic, Ivan Rakitic and Marcelo Brozovic. Croatia has the talent to contend in Group D, and it may be the final chance to make a splash at the World Cup for this aging core of players.  However, something to cheer up this game along the squad playing in the games, will none other than the Crock tail drink.
