At ABC, commence your beer-drinking quest with the ‘Smooth Criminal’, a fascinating honey lavender blend that stays true to its name (it’s super-smooth!). While the Belgian styled ‘Phat Abbot’ is best for the veteran drinker, and in case you love German beer, ‘No Parking Pilsner’ (which is golden, transparent and bursting with flavor) is going to blow your mind away.
On the tap, they have ‘Holiday Stout’ and crowd favorite ‘Irish Stout’ (dark with a tinge of caramel and coffee). Amongst the lighter ones, ‘Raging Elephant’ an Indian Pale Ale is the ideal choice.
Toit Brewpub, Indiranagar
A massive crowd-puller on weekends (with waiting times even stretching up to hours), Toit is a major halt on your brewery-hopping expedition. Patrons here especially love the ‘Basmati Blonde’ (a pale ale with the essence of aromatic rice), ‘Tintin Toit’ (a Belgian preparation) and the ‘Dark Knight’ (an Irish stout). Appetizers like beefy-loaded potatoes and lamb & fig pizzas are sheer delights.
Windmills Craftworks, Whitefield
Touted to be some of the best in town, Windmills Craftworks offer Stout, Hefeweizen, Golden Ale and India Pale Ale on a regular basis with special brews based on the occasion/season. Fans of dark beer are sure to have a field day at this brewery.
The pick, however, is ‘Hefeweizen’, a fruity beer with hints of clove and banana. Add Keema Pav, Pork Chops or Risotto to go with your beers.
Big Brewsky, Sarjapur Road
Sit back and laze by the clean, serene pool and sip on house favorites such as ‘Dunkelweizen’, a dark German ale prepared from wheat, or ‘Black Lager’, a dark malt lager with shades of light hops.
If you’re looking to try something out of the box, then go for the Smoke Lager and the Oatmeal Stout. Add portions of Chicken dumplings, Teriyaki fish, or Crispy Spicy Chicken with the beers and you’ll be good to go!
Punjabi By Nature, Koramangala
Essentially a casual dining spot (especially for couples), this microbrewery is well-liked for its classy ambiance and special brews. Butter Chicken, Paneer Tikki, and Vegetable Biriyani are the recommended dishes that go well with their Wheat Beer and Dark Special Roasted (which carry flavors of caramel/coffee).
It’s located diagonally opposite the Forum Mall. Whoever thought up the concept of Punjabi cuisine going down so well with craft beer, was a complete genius.
Brewklyn Brewery, Kalyan Nagar
What especially intrigues in their menu is the inclusion of ‘beer cocktails’ apart from signature craft beers such as Brewklyn’s Finest (Belgian Wit Beer), Woody Ale’n (British Pale Ale), Iron Mike (Dark, smooth wheat beer) and Biggie (a traditional German lager). Spanning two floors, their rooftop seating arrangement is best during the cooler winter months.
District 6 Pub Brewery and Kitchen, Malleshwaram
An exquisite brewery situated in the northern side of the city, this place has some of the best craft beers such as The Chief, a wheat fruity malt, or the Dark Lord, that has caramel infused in it.
Their handcrafted cocktails are also worth trying out. Kickass Chicken Burger and Prawns in Garlic Sauce are some of the must-haves when you visit.
Communiti, Residency Road
With four different kinds of seating areas spanning two floors, Communiti impresses with its flawless lighting and soft music. Boasting five special craft beers (that include Czech Pilsner and Belgian wheat beer), besides plenty of great cocktails and great finger-food, Communiti’s flamboyant ambiance is also one of the best that Bangalore has to offer.
Hoot, Sarjapur Road
This watering hole boasts some excellent brewed beers such as Saint Martin Abbey Triple (with a touch of fruit and Acacia honey), Saint Martin Belgian White (wheat beer with a sweet aroma to it), Saint Martin Abbey Blonde (Blonde ale with a floral touch and alluring aroma of high quality European malts) and Saint Martin Abbey Dark (spiced dark beer with liquorice and caramel odour).

Prost cooks up a seasonal special brew besides craft beer regulars, nonetheless with a twist. Their brewed beer varieties do not come with fancy names but are indeed the real deal. Basmati, Premium, Dark, Wheat, Ale, Blonde are the beer variations offered here.
The beer cocktails such as Ersh, Kula, and Shandy are also amongst the first choices. Pair the beers with their Gosht Galouti Kabab, Magic Wings and Murgh Awadhi Tikka for best results.

Possessing the ambiance of a traditional chic British pub, The Whitefield Arms Pub is well-liked by guests for its signature cocktails and freshly brewed beer.

Rustling up a great batch of craft beers hailing from Belgium, Germany, India, Mexico, America, Britain, Canada and Scotland, there’s very little in terms of flavor variety that you cannot find at 3 Monkeys.
Chef’s recommendations include Crispy California Chicken and Chef Special Tandoori Chicken. The colorfully-lit interiors are a treat to the eyes.

Carrying the look of an old tavern (with wooden chair/table arrangements and counters), The Brew and Barbeque features some interesting names in its menu such as Weizenbier (Wheat), Red Indian (Ale), Lagerbier (Pilsner), and After Dark (Stout). This is yet another place in the city with superb Sunday brunch offers.
Barleyz, Koramangala 6th Block
Beer and snacks come under the ‘happy hour’ category all day at this rooftop brewery. Barleyz offers a number of craft beers worth checking out, such as The Dark Hour, or golden-colored red Wiet.
Encircled by flowers and greens on the terrace perimeter, Barleyz serves Chinese, North Indian and Continental cuisines. Thin Crust Pizzas and Chicken Kebabs are popular beer supplements.
Brewsky, JP Nagar
Brewsky has been beautifully set up on a rooftop with many-hued doors, benches, tables and fancy lighting. At night, the outdoor seating area is great to look at.
Their craft beer menu includes popular names like Witbier, Hefeweizen, IPA, Blonde, Dunkelweizen, Smoked Stout, an American Amber. Drunken Chicken Wings and Non-Veg Tandoori Platter are excellent sides to go with the beer.
Biergarten, Whitefield
Biergarten has a shared community arrangement with long benches/tables where you can throw back a couple of cold ones while listening to or singing along with their live band.
The regular seat/desk arrangement is also available on the upper deck. Their beer menu boasts of Wheat, Lager, Dark and IPA which you can order in 500 ml or 1 L non-shareable mugs.
