Verification FAQ
Q. How do I get verified in the site/ APP/ M-site?
It will all be done by signing up to our website as well as App. Once you will click on Sigh in option, it will ask for your Name, Date of Birth, Email and Phone No. Then it will be directed to the page where you have to take a selfie picture of yourself (this picture can be changed once in a year). Once the selfie has been correctly taken by you, it will again redirect you to a page, where you have to enter your Aadhar Card No, more suitable in terms of verification. If Aadhar Card Details are not available then you have to enter your Pan Card or Voter IDs details. These details are necessary to enter in order to proceed with placing the order and for rightful age verification process.
Q.If I enter Aadhar Card details, will be there any further verification process?
Yes, once the details have been entered, there will be an eKYC Authentication process. And then if you are verified, it will generate an OTP from the Aadhar Database, Which will automatically verify you if all of your details are correct.
As you are verified through the database it will generate a Unique QR code automatically which changes every 30 secs to avoid misuses.
Q.What if in the authentication process, the OTP is not verified from the Aadhar Card database?
If the OTP is not verified with the Aadhar Card database, then it will automatically disable you as the user. You have to restart the whole process from the very start of signing.
Q.What is an Ekyc authentication process?
eKYC is a paperless Aadhaar-based process for fulfilling your KYC requirements to start using DARU APP/ Site/ M-site. We are using Ekyc authentication for age verification process. It will also make us as the default player in fighting against norms like Underage Drinking.
Q.How do you verify once my Pan Card and Voters ID details have been updated in the sigh in the process?
Once the details of your Pan Card/ Voter ID has been entered, Daru backend team will manually verify through Pan Card & Voter ID database. Once it is verified with the database, an OTP will be generated from the database. As you enter the OTP, it will verify you as a user base on the correct input. No, Daru does not mark up the price on any product. There are times that a partner retailer will be running in-store sales that may not be reflected on Daru. Retailer partners are solely responsible for the price of their inventory on Daru.

Q. Why does Daru appear on my credit card statement?
Daru operates the technology that brings together the consumer and the retail liquor store, but also act as the transaction processor. That charge is processed directly by Daru, whose name will show up on your credit card statement as the merchant of record for the purchase.
Q. How long does it take to be reimbursed for a canceled order?
Daru triggers the reimbursement of the transaction immediately once an order is canceled. The actual time that it takes for funds to be returned to your account depends on your specific bank and may vary. Reimbursement can be as quick as a couple of days but may take up to 5 to 7 business days depending on your credit card issuer.
Q. I am being charged GST amount on my order. What is GST?
GST is a single tax on the supply of goods and services that is levied on every value addition (through production and services) and is added to a product’s sale price. GST has to borne/paid by the ultimate consumer of the product or service. If your order is fulfilled on or after July 1st, 2017, GST will be applicable on your orders. GST subsumes all other taxes like Excise duty, VAT, Entry tax etc.

Q. Is there a delivery radius that’s applicable for home delivery services?
To avail home delivery services, you must stay within 3 kilometers of any Daru affiliated retail store. The app will detect your location and accept your order only if this condition is met.
Q. What is Daru’s Cancellation Policy?
You can cancel an order until it has not been picked up by our delivery agent from the Merchant Establishment on App/Website/M-site. This includes items purchased on sale also. Any amount paid will be credited into the same payment mode using which the payment was made. Once the item has been picked up, there is no return or cancellation policy.
Q. Is there any cancellation fees?
–Yes, on canceling any placed order an amount of INR 200 will be charged.
Q. Can I return the products after receiving delivery and get a refund?
No. Returning or exchanging items delivered to your location is not possible under any circumstances. Once you receive the order, you must check the items for authenticity – cap seal and hologram as soon as it arrives. If you find anything suspicious, you can report it to the customer care, and return the items before the Delivery Agent leaves your presence. Daru does not take any responsibility for items that are unreported once they have been delivered and accepted.
Q. Can I edit my order?
Your order can be edited before it reaches the retailer. You could contact customer support team via chat or call to do so. Once the order is placed and payment has proceeded, you may not edit its contents.
Q. Can I modify the shipping address of my order after it has been placed?
No, you cannot change /update your address once the order has been placed through our site/ App/ M-site.
Q. Is it possible to track my order?
Yes. Once the order has been acknowledged by the store manager and picked up by our delivery agent from the store, you can track the order from the store to your location, on the app. You may also call the delivery agent when he is en route, but it isn’t advisable to do so.
Q. Can an order be canceled by Daru?
Daru can cancel the order in case any of the following situations occur:
a) If the order has been placed to an address which is a public place
b) Underage recipient / no valid identity and age proof presented at the time of delivery
c) Unruly behavior by the customer d) No show by customer up to 10 minutes since intimation of arrival
Q. Do I have to be physically present at the time of delivery?
Yes, you have to be physically present at the residential address you’ve specified in the order to collect the products that you ordered. Age-verification is mandatory and therefore the customer’s physical presence is a must.
Q. What ID proof do I need to show the delivery agent to collect my order?
You must provide any one of the following government-recognized, original documents for verification purposes:
- Aadhaar Card (Primarily)
- Driving License
- PAN Card
- Voter ID
Q. Why should I show my ID proof?
Daru services can only be availed by individuals who are above the legal drinking age, which in Bengaluru is 21. Aadhaar is the default ID used for biometric authentication of age. If it’s not available, other forms of valid, original government ID for age verification and identification is mandatory, to receive the items which are strictly meant for a 21+ audience. We take this business very seriously and have a great deal of responsibility to ensure that underage drinking is not propagated.
Q. How do I apply a coupon on my order?
You can apply a coupon on cart page before order placement. The complete list of your unused and valid coupons will be available under ‘Discounted codes” tab of App/Website/M-site.
Q. Do Daru charge for delivery?
Delivery fee varies from city to city and is applicable if order value is below a certain amount. Additionally, certain restaurants might have fixed delivery fees. Delivery fee (if any) is specified on the ‘Review Order’ page.
