Happy World Chocolate Day!!!
You might have heard it many times from our friends or read numerous blogs on how to pair our crave of chocolate with our favorite spirit. But when we go deeper into this articles and blogs, we either get confused or forget what we read and hard to keep the list alive in our memories. So here are few of the spirits that actually pair well with the taste of chocolate. Now you don’t have to taste something that is not according to your palate.
Whisky

Whisky has been always one of the top choices when it comes to having it with chocolate. They work at a different multitude altogether, they help each other to work in a harmony and highlight each other’s taste and flavor.
The best option will be a single origin chocolate to have with whiskey, as it will mean that the cocoa beans have been taken from one single region which makes it more pure & distinctive taste. Milk chocolate can highlight the spicy kick in rye whiskeys, the bitterness of 70 % cocoa can be softened by the sweetness of an aged whisky and a smoky dram works nicely with white chocolate.
Rum

Rum has its origin from Caribbean island so is chocolate. So without a doubt, they go really well together. Especially with the fact that both taste better if it comes with the single origin characteristic. Pure and Single origin taste better with Rum even the taste of Caramel milk chocolate is also better.
Tequila
Must you be thinking ‘Tequila and chocolate’? Well yes, they are a good pair to have. Tequila has toasty notes from blue agave, which works well with the creamy texture of chocolate. Fruit-flavored chocolate or mint chocolate will bring out the bright grassiness of the tequila. Chocolate with cinnamon or chili will get rid of the heat but enhance that spicy kick at the back of the throat.
So next time you are looking for a lemon wedge to have it with Tequila, you can rather indulge it with a piece of a chocolate.

Bourbon

If you looking for something where you don’t want to go any wrong, then bourbon is the answer you are looking for. Bourbon and chocolate pairs brilliantly. The thick and smoky flavor of bourbon in your palate will be magnified with a good chunk of high cocoa content or it will be smoothed with lovely dark chocolate cookies.
American whiskey often has strong vanilla notes from the use of American Oak — a flavour that likes to mingle with darker chocolates.
Shiraz

The concentrated fruit elements of a strong Shiraz work best with a 70 percent cocoa chocolate. Bittersweet chocolates are strong in flavour and low in sugar, which allows them to mellow out the tannins in a bold, red wine.
Fruit-flavored chocolates will enhance the flavors in the Shiraz, without overwhelming the palate with sweetness.
Stouts

This match is the easiest one. Stouts often show flavors of chocolate and coffee, so dark chocolate will help spice things up and bring out the sugars and bitterness of the beer.
There you go, now choose your favorite drink and chocolate that will be a perfect match. Because remember life get better when your drunk along with some chocolate.
